Axon Facilities Management and Services was commissioned by Khalifa University -  Abu Dhabi to provide design, implementation, and maintenance services for fire alarm and suppression systems.


This project encompasses comprehensive maintenance, inspection, and testing of Ingenia Polymers Abu Dhabi's fire alarm and suppression systems to ensure full compliance with safety regulations and the highest levels of reliability. These services are designed to protect people, property, and operations through proactive maintenance and rapid emergency response.

The scope of work included the following services:

1. Fire Detection and Alarm System:

  • Operation and testing of all functions of the fire detection system.
  • Inspection of all detectors, manual call points (glass breakers), alarm bells, and control panels.
  • Verification of glass breakers to ensure their integrity and the absence of any damage, missing parts, or malfunctions.
  • Immediate, 24/7 response to any system malfunctions or alarms.
  • Coordination and technical support during inspections and approvals conducted by the Civil Defence Department.
  • Affixing test and inspection labels to all equipment being serviced.
  • Provision of detailed periodic reports on maintenance and inspection.
 
2. Fire Suppression System:
  • Inspect and test the entire fire suppression system.
  • Inspect, lubricate, and test the operation of diesel-powered fire pumps.
  • Inspect diesel pump batteries to ensure their readiness and reliability.
  • Verify pressure gauges and system pressure performance.
  • Inspect, clean, and maintain all components of the fire pump assembly.
  • 24/7 emergency response to fire suppression system issues.
  • Label all tested equipment according to maintenance standards.
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance of all fire suppression system components.

 

3. Emergency Lighting and Exit Systems:

  • Ensure optimal performance of central battery systems.
  • Regular inspection and maintenance to minimize system downtime.
  • Rapid response to repairs to maintain operational continuity.
  • Implement measures to extend battery life and ensure long-term reliability.
  • Strict adherence to all relevant safety regulations and operating standards.
